How it all started
Our goal is about more than filling stomachs – we want to create places full of warmth, calm and good moments in Harstad and Narvik. With us, a restaurant visit should feel like a little break from everyday life, where you can relax, breathe in the scent of grill, lime and chili – and let us take care of you.
Gois Restaurant & Cocktail Bar grows out of the story of Goi and Roger Uttakleiv. It all started with homemade spring rolls and a small café at Grottebadet in Harstad, before the dream grew into a full-scale restaurant and cocktail bar – and now also a major venture in Torvhallen in the heart of Narvik. The adventure is built on hard work, a “yes” mentality and a desire to create vibrant meeting places in the city.
The kitchen has its roots in Goi’s Thai home, but draws inspiration from all over Asia – always with a focus on fresh ingredients, bold flavors and sharing dishes that invite people to gather around the table. We like to say that we combine tradition with curiosity: classic flavors from Thailand meet new twists, seasonal dishes and creative cocktails.
Interior, lighting, music, food and people are carefully thought together to create a complete experience – whether you drop by for a quick weekday dinner, a full evening with friends or just a drink at the bar. In Thailand, people often ask: “Have you eaten?” – at Gois, the answer is always that you are welcome in, whether you’re in Harstad or Narvik.
